Jill, Neralee and Damita

Firstly I need to say 3 cheers to Damita " hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray and hip hip hooray!!!!' for melting away 15kg in the past very strenous 11 weeks.  And it was fantastic to be able to be down in Wellington to celebrate Damita's success along with fellow Go Figure girls Jill and Neralee on 15 June.  Read more

Although the weekend was great, the parting certainly was not!!!  and not because it was sad to say goodbye to the girls but because of the infamous Wellington fog.  But more on that later.

Lisa with Neralee
One of my first catch ups in Wellington was with Neralee Montague. I had been sending her her training and eating plans for the past 8 weeks so it was great to actually be able to thrash ooops I mean train her in person.  I don't think Neralee knew what she was in for but I think she enjoyed the intense training I especially conjured up for her.  Not that Neralee needs much improving, she has great delts, back, arms ...well has it all really lucky thing!  so its just my job now is to get her into condition and keep her accountable for her contests ahead.  She's going to do the Samoa show in October, one of a few kiwi girls going to enjoy the sunshine.

After the training, we caught up with Jill and Damita.  And WOW! at first I thought I'd got myself a new client but on closer inspection it was Damita in some tight gym gear which shows off her new lean curves.  We were all were amazed at Damita's change in person and her change in spirit and confidence too.  She's doing great but we won't let it go to her head!!!! as we know she's alot more grounded to let all these compliments go to her head.

It was great to swap stories about dieting, training, men...yes men you do play a part in our lives..a very important part too as we do need you to support us in our endeavours.  Actually must say big apologies to Wayne Clark, Jill's bit on the side, as I didn't let him come on our girls day out.  But he's a big boy and can take it.  You can take me out to lunch next time Wayne!

Anyway, back to the girls.  After lunch we strolled along to Starbucks where they had low fat milk (unbelievably Astoria doesn't have low fat milk!) and chatted more about life and training...what else is there!!

So onto our girls day out and some girl bonding!  it was actually sunny in Wellington.  Yes I know, I was shocked too!! (just kidding Wellingtonians) so we all ventured down to Lambton Quay and found a nice grassy area outside Astoria Cafe to eat the lunches we brought.  Ah hem well with the exception of Neralee who was on her 'treat' day bought a questionable bun filled with scrambled egg.

Then it was back to my hotel so I can check out Jill and Damita, and how they're shaping up.  But firstly, I had to drag Damita away from touching Neralee's delts and arms.  Damita was just in awe of Neralee's bold bodyparts and now inspired to train hers just as hard.  That's the spirit!!

Then Jill revealed how she's shaping up and shaping up she is.  Her upper body is getting much harder and those legs are still being stubborn but they are coming down.  Think the extra walking I prescribed is doing her good.

Next up was Damita, I didn't have to delve too far to see where the changes are happening with her.  Not only has she shrunk in weight but also her shape is changing and I can see she has some serious muscle going on too!  I then went through her new programmes and showed her the new exercises in her regime.  And with her enthusiasm to go hard, I know Damita's going to put every ounce of energy, sweat (and possibly tears) into her training with the help of her hands on trainer Willem.  I can't wait to see Damita's change in the next few weeks so do me and yourself proud Damita, you're worth it!!

All in all it was a great weekend in Wellington.  I had great weather and fantastic company.  And then Monday came!!!  along with the fog.

Monday 16 June, the fog decided to roll in and cancelled all flights out of Wellington for the morning.  You know I like Wellington but I really didn't want to stay that long!  My flight was due to leave at 1.15pm but when I went to check in, they decided to tell me they just cancelled it.  So I went all the way back into the city (what was I going to do at the airport except to do 1000 laps for cardio??!!) then returned back to check in at 3.30 for my 4.15pm departure.

aka Mr Good Morning
But alas, travelling being travelling.  My flight didn't actually leave till 4.45pm and didn't get into Akl till 5.45pm. Grrrrr what a marathon just to travel an hour!!

But I guess one good thing did come out of my flight drama. I got to catch up with one of my oldtown pals Brendan Pongia at the airport.  We had a good old chat about the 'old days' in Greymouth and playing basketball.  He obviously went onto play much better than me!  anyway he's still the same down to earth guy I know.

So there you go, that was fab weekend in Wellington and what a great time it was!! hope to see my capital super girls again soon.

In the meantime, train hard ladies.  Yes you too Neralee!!!!
