One thing that stands out to me about Aroha is her persistance. Aroha contacted me around Sept 07, and usually a busy time of year for me as its just before the 2 Nationals, and at that time I didn't have the opportunity to get together with Aroha.  So I had to delay our meeting for about 2-3 weeks but nevertheless Aroha kept on pestering me (I mean that in the nicest way possible! ) until I could schedule a time to meet. 

That to me, showed how much Aroha wanted to really make the effort to change and get into her new fitness routine and shape.  Usually I can tell after a couple of emails whether a client is serious or not, so after about 5 from Aroha I thought she's got what it takes and this trait could be one for her exercise regime, so I decided to take her on her challenge.

So that was September 07 and now we're in January 08, and Aroha has made some great changes to her shape and fitness.  She's dropped almost 8kg and inches around her waist and hips. I remember when I first took Aroha thorugh a PT session I thought she was asthmatic with all the huffing and wheezing that was coming out of her mouth...along with some other words which I won't mention! but now after 3 months she's becoming quite fit and not struggling as much as she used to.

Transformations don't need to take weeks, sometimes it only takes a week to refine your body. Take Teneka Hyndman for example.  Teneka has a naturally great athletic body and muscle tone but she needed some serious fine tuning for the stage when I saw her a week before competing in the NABBA Nationals in 07!

So I revamped her diet plan, increased her carbs and protein. Increased and changed her training plan, manipulated her water intake ..and a week later voila! 

Teneka looked heaps better. Teneka was a great canvas to work on as being a responsive athletic bod, her muscles responded well to change. Teneka went on to place 2nd in the novice physique class at the NABBA Nationals and placed 3rd in Bodyfitness at NZFBB Nationals.

" With only 1 week to go to NABBA Nationals I happened to bump into Lisa at the Gym...the rest is history...she took me under her wing and prescribed me a highly effective 7 day pre-competition meal plan, AND training regime!  Wow I lost another 700 grams within 4 days, and noticeably firmed my entire body!  By contest day I was in the best condition I had EVER been!  Magic photos too - memories to keep for a lifetime.  Thanks Lisa! Teneka Hyndman
Daring Dawne Foenander is an amazing ' ah hum ..0 something' and I wish she'd let me tell you her age as she just looks awesome for her age - whatever that is eh Dawne. But she doesn't think so, neither does she think she's got the strength to do the some of the weights I put in her hands but after nearly 7 months training with me she's FINALLY believing she is strong inside and out. 
 
 

Dawne is developing to be one strongwilled fiesty lady who's keen to take on the challenges not of the gym but of the world too so I'm glad she's transferring that strength into the universe. 

Dawne has been consistantly training with me for about 2/3 times a week and she's noticing the shape changes she's been yearning for, as she sees more change, she's doing more and I'm sure she's got big goals next year.  I'll keep you posted on Dawne's progress, in the meatime here's her thoughts on the Superbody programme:


"I have always been fairly physically active whilst mostly managing to avoid the gym. Living in Brisbane, I would spend a lot of time biking around the tracks and I noticed the improvement in muscle tone. This got me thinking … so I decided that I needed professional help to stay fit and in shape –my search for a personal trainer began.

I have been trained by a few talented and dedicated trainers but I knew I was missing that certain ‘something’.

 

Along came Lisa from Go Figure – thanks to Google – and I haven’t looked back. She has pulled the whole fitness/training thing together for me and it works!

While being a professional, Lisa has the human touch and keeps the sessions fun.
There’s freshness to the routines we are getting progress steadily.

I have been training with Lisa for just over three years now and it has been an awesome experience. I still remember posing for my first photo, thinking ‘what the hell is Lisa going to make of this’ and ‘how can she tell what I need just by looking at a photo of me in my shorts and singlet’. But anyway, however she can tell, she does it good! 

jillclark-oct04.jpgJill 04  I’ve learnt a lot about my own body since I began training with Lisa; how to keep it well fuelled, how to train correctly and not overtrain (like I used to and get no results) and how to make the most of what I had to start with. I have enjoyed experimenting, particularly with food, before a competition and maybe we don’t always get it right, but for me it’s not just about the body building, getting up on stage is a bonus, it’s also about keeping healthy and developing good lifestyle choices.

My journey with Lisa has inspired others to go on their own journey of weight loss and self esteem improvement. I was recently asked to be a guest speaker at a High School Sports Award evening. I called my speech – ‘A Transformation that removes the myths about dieting’. I used Lisa’s diets and training methods as examples. This speech gave me the opportunity to talk about body building and ‘dieting’ in a positive light and I hope I am a role model to young people especially. 

 

Lisa is not only my trainer but she has become a good friend and is a fun person to be around. I like her style and I have come to understand Lisa and her ‘little quirks’ (come on we all have them!) over the time I have known her. Thanks Lisa for all your work, you’ve kept me on the straight and narrow (well, mostly anyway, ‘cos I can always hear the crack of that whip!) and I look forward to more experimenting and more fun.

Lisa, thank you so much for your assistance over the past few months. 
As you know, I have been competing in bodybuilding competitions since 2000, and have had moderate success, winning several regional competitions. 

However, even though I was still enjoying the sport, I felt that this year I was becoming a bit stale, & that I needed a boost.   I really felt that I wanted to take the pressure off myself of always having to do all the thinking, and therefore I needed to enlist the help of someone that I could trust to guide me to the next level.

I have seen the progress of your wonderful supergirls, and having talked to my good friend Janine, I was confident that you could work your magic on me as well!  I was ready to listen!

By following your training and eating guidelines I have made good progress in only a few months, meaning that I presented at Nationals and North Harbour in my best ever condition.
