Lisa's Happy Snaps!
What a super weekend roadtrip and super show! great to see around 60 athletes ventured to Taupo's cold temps to strip off in their trunks and bikinis. I've been wondering where the girls have been this year and my question was answered...they've decide to come out in Taupo...and what awesome condition they were all in too.

There was the great battle for the sen fig 45. It was great to see Marlene Henderson return to the stage after 4 years to compete against Tarren McCall (both amazing athletes!) but it was Marlene who took out the class. Needless to say the audience was treated to something special.

Was also a nice touch to see Marlene do her routine with her daughter Frocine. Kym Carter made a comeback too, an impressive one at that - beating superlean Michelle Middleton and fellow comeback girl Marise in the Open Figure tall. New competitor on the scene Tina Malherbe from Rotorua turned heads backstage with her super hard body and symmetry - not to mention the great quads. And up on stage she was pushed from the excellent bods of Jessica and Irina. In the end it was Tina who took it and would love to see her compete in other shows this year.

The Sportsmodels was the luckiest class as they got to play dress ups 3 times! this class was also tough as all the girls were in good shape and did excellent routines. In the end it was the ever smiley Teneka Hyndman who won that class over Monty and Ana. Teneka came in the best shape I've ever seen her, she has great muscle mass and this time she really put in the effort and it showed in her sharper physique. Ofcourse not forgetting our own Supergirls Heidi and Janine who battled it out in the Open short, Janine had the endge in her condition but Heidi's not too far away and will be great for her next contest.

Out of the guys, well you can't go past Alex, and I think this is the best condition I've seen him in. But he was pushed by the muscular Afi Peppard from Christchurch but it was Alex's leaned down waist that made his symmetry even more spectacular and he looked really dry and defined. He says he's having a rest next year but we'll see! Great to see the ever buffed bod of Keri Onyewu in the open short class who's bod just gets better and better - and more flexible each year. We were also treated to guest posing by Joe Ulburg!

All in all a great fun 15th Anniversary show organised by Peter Hardwick and hopefully many more. I must also mention the excellent (yet corny) routine by Darren and his exercise partner from Bodyworx gym (who once again won the gym trophy). Hopefully I can put this video on site as its a must see. Will ask Keith nicely! For further pics go to muscleimaging.com
