Aimed at teen girls, The Xena Project is a 4-week course, presenting health and fitness in a fun, challenging and diverse programme, done 3 x weekly. For example, project participants may engage in: gym sessions, swimming, martial-arts, circuit-training, outdoor workouts and tramping for starters, as well as advice on healthy nutrition. Places are limited, meaning Xena warriors will work closely together, emphasizing team building. The diverse programme reflects a recognition that there is not 'one right way' to enjoy fitness, as well as having the dual benefit of keeping young people interested! At The Xena Project, the objective a little different- rather than being focused mainly on physical betterment, the goal is for young women to come and take from it what they personally require, whether it be for weight-loss or lifestyle skills, to complement existing training or just for a new experience! Fitness level is not important as the course has been created to accommodate varying fitness levels, and each individual is expected to compete against themselves- not anyone else. Joining me is 'Battle For Life' organiser, Patrick O'Brien who will be introducing the 'Xena warriors' to martial-arts, an essential for any warrior! All Xena Project sessions are reinforced with corresponding online articles and relevant information and I am also available to answer any questions personally, via email/text for the duration of the programme, which is based primarily outdoors in fresh air meaning its requires no gym membership, making it easy for 'Xena warriors' to integrate into normal lifestyle habits. At the Intro night you'll meet your fellow female warriors and receive your Xena Project Pack, complete with T-shirt, programme outline, discount vouchers from local fitness/health/beauty related providers, helpful information and even an exclusive offer for a professional makeover and photoshoot. A strong body is the soil for a strong mind and parents are bound to enjoy seeing their teen planting positive seeds of future fitness. Kick-off date is 1st Feb which is time to start achieving your goals, increasing fitness and getting food-smart while having a great time! So come on girls, let's workout more than just your thumb while texting..... for more info go to innergo.co.nz/xena Sarah Parr 10 October 11 |
