Super NABBA Nationals for Go Figure, Oct 07
But on Saturday it was down to business..or fun more like as the
girls donned their war paint (dream tan and make up!) glitzy
bikinis and heels as they compete in their classes.
Sheta Hall was up first in the
Novice Figure Tall Class. As always Sheta is super polished in her
presentation and has a butt that's made for a G string. Her outfit
was complete with a winning smile as always. She had a tough class
as there were some very similar bodies in her class but I think
she's happy with her 3rd placing but is determined to do better
next year.
Next up was the physique classes. Another lady with a winning smile
is Teneka Hyndman. Very newbie
supergirl, I had 1 week to try and do magic with her and I think I
got pretty close (will put up some pics of her 7 day changes, quite
cool if I do say so myself).
Teneka looked fuller and we got some definition in her legs and
cuts in her upper body.
The goal was to 'win' second as we knew Bev (who eventually won the
Overall Physique) would take her class. So a 2nd in Nov Phys was a
win for us! well done Teneka.

Now to the battle that I wasn't looking forward to. Jill Clark and Wendy Sole in the Sen Phys 35 class was a nail biter. These ladies both have their strengths and I think they have very similar physiques and I'm sure there wasn't much between them. Luckily they do have good team spirit and comraderie so I knew, whatever happened they'd handle it like true champs they are. Wendy had severely sprained her ankle 5 weeks before the Nationals so she was limited in her cardio and leg training but I think her commitment to her diet showed through and looked better than her previous comps (which was my first goal). Jill had her own drama with some stomach problems a couple of days before comp but she's a trooper and pulled through with her usual positive spirit. So anyway, back to the result. Wendy just pipped Jill to place 3rd and they're still friends.. I think!

Then the Open Figure Girls were next. Our pocket rocket and team cheer leader/morale booster Janine Haywood was in her usual fine ripped form and took 1st place against Sonya Watts. Despite having severe shoulder pain, she smiled through it and enjoy her love of competition and her time on stage. Janine's been invited to compete at the INBA Naturals in Greece so she's looking forward to the event of her lifetime, we'll have to feed you up first Janine!!
And then THE class of the night, Open Figure Tall. This had an impressive lineup of girls with amazing figures and with each having different strengths. Rhonda Bryers was feeling nervous going into the lineup as she the girls in this class was super lean. Rhonda has a great structure and muscle mass, unfortunately I only had a couple of weeks to work with her - will go into background about how Rhonda becane Supergirl in another story.
Anyway, Rhonda posed beautifully and did a great routine which won her the Best performance award. Unfortunately she didn't place but she has been invited to the Universe in Spain at end of November so I hope she seriously thinks about it as she has awesome potential which I'd love to bring out....go on Rhonda!!!!
| Thanks Supergirls!!! Thanks for a great year ladies and ofcourse a super Nationals. Thanks for your comraderie and the way you all support each other to keep your morales up. Thanks for trusting me with your super bodies and it was a joy seeing the final outcome and your smiles on the day/night. I'm sure you're all keen to do better next year and up to the challenges of heavy training and good eating...but not toooooo good! Enjoy your rest, you've earned it. Lisa |
