Hi Lisa, Well I am back from the INBA Natural Olympia in Greece. The experience was a real eye opener for me, being the novice that I am! I found the preparation so different with having to fly for 24 hours plus waiting for connecting flights to get there! It took 1 1/2 days all together!
But yet the knowledge that you have is put to use and you have no one to rely on but yourself and it is amazing what you actually know. Not to mention when you arrive and you don't speak the language and have to find the food that you require. You really do have to have a sense of humor with this sport! There were about 150 athletes competing from USA, Australia, Canada, NZ, Bulgaria, Greece, Argentina, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom just to name a few. All the athletes were in awesome condition and it was a real thrill for me to be included with them. I felt confident that my preparation was the best I could have accomplished and I was ready for the challenge and to put myself on the stage. I kept trying to tell myself to treat it like just another competition! Yeah right!!

Our Kiwi team was only a small group, but we had a lot of fun and Alan and I really enjoyed their company and getting to know them. The team spirit made our first trip away very enjoyable and has given us a taste for more challenges to come. I have only just started in this sport and the more I get involved the more I love it, but also the more I realise I can and want to improve! Thank you Lisa, for helping me to accomplish one of my goals and now the next one begins!!!! Cheers Janine
