It was fantastic to smell the sweet scent of dream tan again at the NABBA Christchurch Classic and Asia Pacific Champs on 11 April in Christchurch.
Firstly I must congratulate contest organiser Kingsley Hannah for putting on a great well run show. Not only did he organiser but also compered the night show. The morning and evening shows were well attended by the christchurch audience and I'm sure they appreciated the efforts of the athletes who competed.

17 athletes competed in the Christchurch Classic while 20 competed in the Asia Pacific section. It was good to see some familiar faces and bodies competing so early in the year so hopefully we'll see them continue with competitions later in 09. Some outstanding athletes included the ultra vascular conditions of canterbury's Phil Musson and Shane Elsey. Out of the girls the Open Short class of Philllipine's Rowena Mercaida and Suzie Patrick would be the highlight of feminine muscle. Rowena who won last year's Asia Pacific title took it out again this year.

The Guest Posers Richard Parnham, Annette Gallagher and Mark Anderson didn't shape up too bad either! Their routines were awesome and the crowd appreciated seeing the grace of Richard and Annette's routine, but they went wild for Mark's sheer mass. These athletes are aiming to compete at the Country Classic in Bendigo in August. Watch out Aussies.
Speaking of going to Aus, Stan Tautalanoa will be competing at the INBA Dubbo Classic this Sat 18 April. Good luck Stan!
Below are some pics from the show. I'll have some video of the show in due course. Plus will have some interviews and footage of Richard, Annette and Mark while they trained at Les Mills.
In the meantime, enjoy!

Richard, Annette and Mark are all aiming to compete at the Country Classic in Bendigo in August. Judging by their condition now, they should give those Aussies a run for their money! good luck. |
