| Report! The first ever NZIFBB Counties Manukau Champs had many highlights. The first was the great turn out for an inaugural show with 42 athletes competing and we saw a number of novices giving this show a go. |

| The second highlight was the return of a few figures we hadn't seen on stage for a while. Karen McGough, Melody Leung, Erena Young and Vanessa Bartley returned in great condition and made an impact winning their classes. With Melody and Vanessa winning the Overall Titles. While we didn't see many athletes in the Open Men, the posedown between Mateo Vaihu (90-100kg class) and the revamped Garth Van der Merwe (o100kg) along with Geordie Shields was great to watch. Check out the overall comparisons video below. These guys showed great comraderie as they presented each pose. But it was Mateo and his awesome conditioning and thickness that wowed the audience and judges, and also took out the overall title. The other unusual highlight was the lack of men's physique and bikini in this show! Usually we are inundated with hot guys in this class but we only saw 2 - Tyrone and Keegan in the Open Men's. And 6 in the Novice Men. In saying that we did see the emerging talent of Scot Crowe who won the novice short class and gave Tyrone a run for his money. But Tyrone's mass pulled him through and slightly edged out the young gun. There was one lone Bikini Figure of Aimee Collins in the Tall class and she fended off the novice bikini girls to eventually take the overall title. Another great highlight was the time the show finished. The contest began and 12.30pm and finished by 4pm, which is a great as I was back home in time to take my dog for a walk.
