Video, Happy Snaps and Stage Pics! Overall Winners L to R: Sally Lush (NABBA Fig), Paul (NABBA Men), Marek (WFF Athletic), Dani Shepherd (WFF Fig) |
Report! It was a great sign that the sun was out on the day of the NABBA WFF West Auckland Gun Show as the Guns were out on some pretty awesome bodies. Organised by 2 big guns of bodybuilding Naera Johnson and Jo Stewart, the show was fun and well organised. Not only did they make sure the athletes got on stage but they also provided the entertainment with an awesome flashmob filled with NZ's top national and international bodybuilders. Check out the video below. |
Naera, Jo and the awesome flashmob |
While the show was small in numbers (28), it was high on talent with some great bodies coming through. One was NABBA Junior William Kaumeafaiva who had great mass and conditioning for a young guy. Marek Simacek also showed awesome conditioning in the WFF Novice men section. Finau Faofua also showed great talent in the Men's WFF class 3. | Marc Rainbow and Lisa |
It was unusual not to see many men compete in the NABBA men section but we did see a great NABBA class 3 contest between Dean Lawerence and Paul Blackburn. They were both in great shape but Paul showed a better structure and conditioning which won him the class and Overall title. | Great audience turnout |
In the WFF section there was a great contest for the Sportsmodel class. There was a range of conditioning of athletes in this class from lean to athletic to fuller look so it must've been tough for judges to decide which direction they were going. After comparisons in the bikini and sportsmodel rounds, the winner went to Emma Chappie who showed a nice athletic figure without being too hard. Must note that if there was a prize for best walk it would go to the sassy Ana Massa as she definitely knew how to work the stage! Julie Nouri looked amazing in the grandmaster 50 class and hard to believe she's in that category! Dani Shepherd's conditioning was spot on and it was great to see her and Julie go up for the Overall in which Dani eventually won. Overall Comparisons WFF Men WFF Figure NABBA Men NABBA Figure In the NABBA figure it was great to see the return of Tracey Allsopp-Smith who's returned to the stage after 8 years away and her conditioning was the same - perhaps even better than she left. Unfortunately it was not enough to win her Senior Figure 35 class against Sally Lush who perhaps won for her better structure. Nonethless both awesome athletes! Overall, it was a great show enjoyed by both athletes and audience. Don't forget the NABBA WFF Christchurch Grand Prix on 16 May, NABBA WFF Art Deco Grand Prix 27 June and NABBA WFF Pan Pacific Champs on 29 August. Thanks Jo and Naera for having me and Go Figure be part of the show! Lisa |
