Traditionally the NZFBB Central North Island Champs is usually a big show attracting plenty of athletes from the North Island region.

However this year we're feeling in our bodybulding bones that the show's going to probably be the biggest of the year...notwithstanding the Nationals ofcourse.

Kaye O'Neil, organiser, will have to be put on her Supergirl cape as not only is she putting on the show (in her usual extra efficient manner we assume!) but she's also guest posing at the evening show.

Tony
If that isn't special enough, our resident Hunk Tony Ligaliga is also guest posing. He tells us he's putting something extra special into his routine, we may even see a tribute to Michael Jackson.  We know he's a great mover and a great entertainer so make sure you come to the evening show for both guest posers.
As far as athletes and athlete numbers go, we know Sheryl Summers is bringing a team of 10 from her 1 to 1 fitness studio in Clive.  Just from general communication we've had with people emailing Go Figure we know they'll be plenty of athletes from New Plymouth, Thames, Hamilton, Matamata and ofcourse the Tauranga region giving this one a go.

Furthermore Kaye said she's already sold 50 shirts for athletes competing which includes group of 5 from Rotorua. One of Kaye's clients, Frances Robinson, last competed 13 years ago and after  seeing Kaye guest pose last year decided she'd give it a shot. She's doing physique over 45. Donna Randell from Dargeville is also competing this year and is 'looking fabulous' she said. There's also rumous of a couple of big boys including Sanjeev and Aldeen Brown might be getting on stage.
When I chatted with Nolan Smith back at the Club Physical Champs he said he was aiming for this comp and is looking forward to battling the big boys - if they come out to play that is!  hmm wonder if Darren Onekawa from Rotorua will surprise us with an entry. He was looking quite large when we saw him at the BOP comp, and you never know with these guys.  They could pop up anytime.  Pop up at CNIs please guys!!!

If you're like me, and have no idea how to get to the venue - Otumoetai College, Windsor Rd. Here's the link to the map.

Go Figure will be there to take happy snaps and I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone there.  If you have any news about athletes competing, please let me know!!!

See you there!
