The Princesses of Pain Friendly by Andrew Barrett

On a different side of fitness the Sport of MMA can't be denied as a leader in growth sports and the participation of female fighters is becoming more and more popular. I was happy to be invited to an event called the POP Friendly standing for the Princesses of Pain.
Held in the Dojo of the Fighting Fit Academy in Panmure you could hardly fit another person inside and spectators and supporters lined the walls and floor cheering on their female warriors.

Belinda the Head promoter of the event explained that the
Princesses of Pain is an international women's fight league, featuring the combative sports of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Kickboxing. The league is held in the beautiful country of New Zealand, where it first began.
Having been the first ever women's MMA to be held in New Zealand, and one of the earliest all female fight cards, Princesses of Pain has spearheaded the way for promotions of women's fighting.

It continues to aim towards showcasing talented female fighters in both MMA and Kickboxing.
Princesses of Pain is continuing to grow in popularity with each subsequent event, attracting highly skilled fighters from all over the world.

Belinda fully believes the time has come to bring Women's fighting from the side shows of the male fight cards into the forefront of the promotions.

The organisation of the event was seamless and the Fighters all came out of the ring with a positive vibe and a smile of their faces - even though they had a few bruises here and there.

At the end of the day there were no official winners and losers but the experience of competition was achieved in all the female fighters.
