4 March:  Congratulations to Jess who placed 4th in her huge bikini class at the Arnold Classic!

alt 22 year old Jess Pendergrast has come a long way since competing in her first NZIFBB bikini competition a year ago.

Since winning the Akl Champs and the Nationals in 2011, Jess if off to compete at the prestigious Amateur Arnolds on March 3 this year.

With her naturally lean body and a sexy stage persona, we have no doubt Jess will hold her own against some of the sassy Americans on stage.

When did you represent Ms Universities and what was your other contest in Aus?
I represented New Zealand at Miss World University in 2010 in Korea. It was an amazing experience and it really opened my eyes to how privilaged we are here in New Zealand. It was great to spend time with like minded women from around the world and travel across Korea. I also represented New Zealand at Miss World Supermodel 2010 in Gold Coast, Australia.

What did you study at Uni? I studied a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Marketing and Management.

What's you occupation now: My occupation is a Marketing Assistant.

What's your typical weekly workout schedule ie what bodyparts you train each day. Do you do any cardio?
I am very lucky that I don't have to do any cardio. I have such a fast metabolism that I am constantly trying to eat enough to make sure that my body doesn't burn off any muscle. I will do some cardio in my last few weeks of preparation but it will only be 15 minutes a day.

Monday: Legs

Tuesday: Back
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: Legs
Fri: Biceps
Saturday: Shoulders/ Triceps

Your supplement regime?
I am very lucky to be sponsored by Nutrigenix and Xtreme Nutrition. I have been using Nutrigenix supplements in my lead up to the Arnolds and they have really helped me in achieving the physique that I want to achieve.

I would highly recommend them to everyone. My supplements include protein, creatine, HMB and Olympia 0.

Do you think you'd like to make bodybuilding/bikini contests your business/career/hobby in the longterm?
It is definitely a long term goal of mine. I absolutely love training and everything about the fitnss industry. I hope to one day combine my university degree with the fitness industry and get my dream job
