Personal Trainer and Hairdresser Kristy Thomson is 3 days away from competing at her 2nd Australian Grand Prix. Interestingly, this will be Kristy's 23rd show in 12 years! so she has plenty of experience under her belt - or bikini as the case maybe. As you can see from this pic taken on 6 March she's looking contest ready with her full and lean figure. We asked Kristy a few questions ahead of the show, read on... -your condition looks really good! What was the main difference you did in your diet and/or training to get the condition this time, I started dieting with 100g carbs a day and lowered these to about half - I felt like I was over dieting so increased my carb intake again. I did a no cheat diet and had more higher carb diet this time. At the start of the diet I was on high carbs and high protein , moderate good fats and then went low, but realised it was too low in carbs, so my partner Jamil took over from week 8 and I decided to try his diet:) I also did 90 mins cardio 8 weeks out per day, 7 days a week this helped to and weight trained one day extra also. left: Kristy at 2 weeks out |
- you've been to Aussie pro before, what did you learn from that experience. I learnt that pro level is almost like starting over again, I really liked the show and learned that everything counts. Tan, shoes, posing of course your whole package:) which with ametra does to, but you want to try have everything just right - the pros are really into presentation, is this an area you're conscious of? yes I feel this year, I will present better with everything and have made these changes. - do you think you'll be less nervous this time?, I was nervous last time, but not like last time as I know want its like and feel I've made the changes from last show that I needed to. I always get a little nervous with every show I've done:) - what were the main supplements you took in Precontest Optimun Nutrition are my sponsors so I used all there supplements for fat burning( thermo cuts and cla , I also took fish oils, hmb, creatine, hydro whey powder(til 3 weeks out, whey gold and casin protein powder, amino energy before training,l glutmine, multi vitamin, vitamin c, zma at night I would like to say thanks to everyone who has supported me through this show!
