1. What shows are you competing in this year? IronMan Pro 17 Feb, Sanfransico pro invitational and Australia GRAND PRIX (maybe).

2. What weight are you now and what do you want to be on stage?
I am currently 115 kgs on 5% BODY FAT (as at 20 Jan 07). And am hoping to land on 111kg the day of the show with less than 3% body fat.

3. How do you compare your size and condition compared to the same time last year? I am more complete as I worked this year on bringing up my whole body evenly and am also 5 kgs bigger.

4. How do you want to look on stage this year compared to first show last year? More size and balance will hopefully do the trick.

5. Are you more relaxed or nervous going into it this year since your first Pro year in 06. I'm actually very excited and more relaxed this year since I know what to expect and I could say I have been doing my homework to the best I can.

6. You've enlisted help from Garry Jones to help you in some workouts, why?
Garry is a great influence with heaps of experience and to be fair he has helped motivate me and kept me on track this year but I can tell you every workout with this man is deadly and to the extreme and I thank him for that.

7. Have you enjoyed him training you? and are your sessions more intense? OOOHH YEEAAHH. Intense is not the word, deadly is the one, but like he says it's beautiful and nice to do that type of workouts.

8. What have you learned and have picked up any training tips from him? I learned one thing, if you want to train with someone he should be as good and caring as Garry.

07-Moe26Jancurls 9. What's your training split? what rep ranges and sets do you do?
4 exercises, 10-12 reps, 4 sets
Mon:shoulders,traps
Tues:Back and biceps
Wed:chest and triceps
Thurs:quads
Fri:hamstring,calves and glutes
Sat:back to monday
Sun:off

10. Typical diet? my diet works for me and I dont like to share that with the general public so they dont go trying because it may not work for them.

11. Do you do cardio? 20 minutes of cardio daily.. mind you the last three weeks I will be doing one hour daily.

We know behind every Super Man is an unsung figure who works tirelessly to support her man and keep things ticking along behind the scenes at home. In this case our figure is Johanna Mossawi, the wife of Moe who must possess nerves of steel herself to share Moe's bodybuilding journey!

Read on to find out how she does it!!

So what's it like being wife of a Pro Bodybuilder?

Being a wife of a pro bodybuilder..like a wife of any athlete would say that it is quite challenging and exciting at times...Just to witness the dedication and hard work he goes through could be hard, but his achievements are grand and rewarding..i met him as a bodybuilder, I saw the love and passion he has for the sport and supported him from day one.

Do you cook his meals and organise his food?

Yes, I cook and organize all his meals for him. He is a very busy person, it is the very least I can do for him. I love to do it...my little way of pitching in!

Johanna, Mirian and Moe

Do you have an interest in bodybuilding and do you get excited about seeing him on stage? I personally dont have interest in bodybuilding as a competitor. I do support the sport of bodybuilding and the work these athletes achieve. I get very excited seeing my husband on stage. I am very proud of him and all of what he has done through the years. When he is onstage I see his hard work, the long hours of training, the months of dieting finally showcased before everyone. Its great!

How do you deal with the rollercoaster of Moe's pre contest diet and training?
Well certainly it is a lifestyle which we chose to live. Sure we have ups and downs. I completely understand what he goes through..its tough! Moe is not only a bodybuilder but a business man with many duties at hand and a father of one. It does cut into some family time but I have got to say that I am a very lucky woman. I have a husband who makes sure that he makes time for his family throughout his training and busy schedule. I admire him and am very proud of him. Moe is an outstanding athlete, person, excellent husband and father. He has been a winner and champion for us and will continue always.

Every time Randall Leungwai sees himself in the mirror these days he still can't believe what he sees in the mirror...and neither can we!

Since deciding to get off his butt in Dec 05 and do something about his bodyweight, 28 year old Randall has transformed from a 180kg fast food addict to a lean and healthy 115kg Hunk, and the Winner of the Novice Men's Title at NABBA Counties show.

Randall Dec 05 Randall Sept 06

Gone are the days where Randall would eat 4 pies for breakfast washed down with soft drink. The rest of the day didn't get any better as Randall constantly downed more pies, chicken and chips, Burger King and more fried food. "Up till 2002, I used to be into weight training but I didin't know much about the diet side. Nobody gave me any advice so I just started to get fat, eventually I stopped exercising, I got lazy and then couldn't be bothered to workout and that's when I got really fat" Randall said.

In the following 3 years Randall put on 70-80kg and his weight ballooned to 180kg as he continued to eat bad food, partied and drank alcohol. "I just didn't have the energy or feel like doing any exercise" he said.

06-HunkVRandalsideabsDecember 2005 was the time Randall decided to turn his life around. He decided he didn't want to be fat anymore and decided to start eating healthy and do exercise. "I was really depressed and exercising was hard to do at that weight but I was really determined to get it off so I just carried on" he said. He read through Musclemags and followed some of the low carb diets he found in there, then plunged himself into cardio.

As he works at Fonterra as Machine Operator, his work day starts at 5.30am, he would do 1hr cardio at 4am, then he'd go back to gym after work and do another hour on the treadmill or bike. After dinner he'd do another hour on the treadmill. His sheer determination to lose weight paid off and after just over a month he'd lost 20kgs.

It was around February 06 that he threw around the idea of competing in bodybuilding show with his friend Nik who also trains at Fitness Plus. " We wanted to have a challenge and push each other to stay on our goal. He would aim for the NZFBB Akl Champs and I'd do the NABBA Counties". As it turned out Nik won the overall at the Akl Champs.

Going back to the gym wasn't easy for Randall. He said people didn't encourage him when he returned huge but now they're saying "that fat guy's turned into a bodybuilder and they can't believe the change" Randall added. "I had alot of detractors during the process but that just made me more determined"

By May, Randall's fat loss had slowed down but he did get his weight down to 145kg. It was at this time he decided to get serious about competing so he sort advice from Moe Mossawi. "I heard he was the best guy to go to to get into contest shape" Randall said. " He's the only guy who believed from day 1 that I could look like this and I thank him for that". And so began his contest diet:

Randall's Pre Contest Diet:
Before cardio: Pitbull fatburners, L-carnitine
Breakfast: 10 egg whites + 200g kumera
Meal 2: protein shake
Meal 3: 300gm chicken breast + salad
Meal 4: protein shake
Meal 5: 300gm steak + 200g kumera
Meal 6: protein shake
Meal 7: 185gm canned tuna + broccoli
Before afternoon training: Pitbull, L-carnitine
Meal 8: protein shake
Meal 9: 200gm tuna + salad
Dinner: chicken + salad
Before bed: Protein shake, Zforce + Tribulus

Training: Randall trains at Fitness Plus Gym in Manukau where he trains 6 days a week. He does 5 exercises per bodypart, 8-12 reps.
Day 1: Chest and Triceps
Day 2: Back and Biceps
Day 3: Legs
Day 4 :Shoulders, Traps
Day 5: repeat day 1
Day 6: repeat day 2.

Cardio: 1hr in morning before work at 4am as he starts work at 5.30am. Then does another hr after weights in afternoon.

Congratulations Randall !!
Today Randall still carries the fat pics of himself to remind him how he used to be but he says " I can't imagine being that person now ". He also carries the stretch marks on his body as a permanent reminder of the size he was but now a new body carries what he could be.

At the NABBA Counties show on 16 September, all of Randall's hardwork and dream of competing in a bodybuilding contest was realised. Randall was pumped and in front of an audience filled with his supporters who cheered and clapped him on, Randall amazed everyone with his awesome new physique in the Novice Physique Men's class and taking out the title.

"Getting rid of the fat changes everything in your life" Randall said. "It makes you more disciplined in all areas of your life. I'm now on a mission to be the best I can be and make the most of what I've been able to change in my body and my life".

Randall has proved that with plenty of mental toughness and discipline anything is possible if you just put your mind to it. We wish you all the best with you new future in your new body Randall!

Well done and Congratulations from Lisa @ Go Figure
