Debbie and Janine
Hmm Raw Food Workshop.  Sounds interesting.  Is it just going to be lots of broccoli and green juice?

We sent our roving reporter Janine Haywood to give the Raw Energy Workshop a go and this is what she found out.

" I recently had the pleasure of attending a ‘Raw Energy Workshop' held by Debbie Buddle who owns Natures Nutrition.

As you know Lisa, I choose to eat clean all the time, so I needed to find a way to eat more and add variety to my food to feed the body the extra it needs during the building season but also keep my mind happy to know I am controlling my weight.

While talking to Debbie she told me about the power of raw food, this got me very interested in learning more. I attended one of her Raw Food Energy Workshops and now am inspired that I can feed the body more efficiently in a lot more ways than I ever thought possible.
Here's how the workshop went...

Debbie explained the different types of juice machines, how they work and how this changes the enzymes of the juice and what type would best suit an individual's needs. She then went on to explain all about the juices of vegetables and fruits, what goes best with what and why, to pip or not to pip?

Was I going to remember all of this, NO, could I write fast enough, once again NO, but wait there is more... she has notes for you to take away, thank goodness! The notes also include some recipes to get you started and the health benefits of the blends. I was fascinated with the one called Popeye's Power Drink!!!

As well, she blends up some juices during her talk and you get to have a taste. A shot of wheatgrass juice with a chaser of cholesterol lowering tonic juice mixture, sounds divine, well it is!

Then Debbie explained about Smoothies. She goes over more information, what to put in, the benefits, how you can get your kids to like veges! Oh and thank goodness more notes handed to us because by this stage I was so focused and listening to what she was saying I was not writing any more. Once again she included recipes with her notes and we had some taste testing again! Yum!!

Debbie had prepared some raw energy salads for us to try. These were not like any old lettuce, cheese, carrot and tomato salad that my mother use to make either, no!!

They had names like Broccoli salad, carrot, avocado and sprout salad and were full of raw goodness.

She had made a raw tuna and salmon salad to die for with some falafels, hummus and pesto and all of  these had absolutely no artificial additives.

They were all made out of raw food and herbs. And I can honestly say they all tasted amazing and there was not a cheat in any of it. Before she had finished we had tasted crackers
made with just nuts and red onions and a most divine lemon slice with just nuts and lemon zest!!!

And yes they tasted great. We came away with all these recipes plus recipes for natural vinaigrettes and dressings.

Try these delicious recipes for Christmas!!
