With the BBQ season upon us here are a few different ideas for sauces & dressings to accompany those meats & salads.

Curried Dressing:
1 Cup Bio-Organic low fat yoghurt "Blue Label"
1 tsp Curry Powder
2 tsp Splenda Granulated powder
Combine ingredients & chill before serving

Honey Mustard Dressing:

1 Cup Bio-Organic low fat yoghurt "Blue Label"
2 tsp Wholegrain mustard
1 tsp Liquid Honey
Combine ingredients & chill before serving.

Sweet Chill & Garlic Dressing:
1 Cup Bio-Organic low fat yoghurt "Blue Label"
1 Clove Crushed Garlic
½ tsp Crushed Chilli
2 tsp Lemon Juice
2 tsp Splenda Granulated powder
Combine ingredients & chill before serving.

 

Meat Marinade:
4 pieces rump steak 200gm each trimmed of excess fat
½ Cup Balsamic Vinegar
¼ Cup Soya Sauce
¼ Cup Red Wine
2 tsp Crushed Garlic
1 tsp Baking Soda

Combine ingredients adding baking soda last, mixture will froth initially. Add meat, cover & refrigerate 4-6 hours or overnight.Barbeque meat 3-4 mins each side.

 

Cooks Tip:

Baking Soda tenderises meat. The longer it is life to marinate the better. This recipe also works well with Lamb. Add fresh rosemary to the marinade for the Lamb
