I initially started training with Lisa via e-mail in 2005 or there abouts but due to moving from NZ to Oz back to UK (where I'm originally from) then back to Oz then from town to town my commitment wasn't very good I was still training but I wasn't just buckling down to eat.
Last year I made the commitment and got myself a trainer near home (well 1hrs drive away) and decided I wanted to compete, I got to compete however wasn't happy with how I looked just flat and no muscle and with all the "pushing my body to the limit" I actually became very sick two days from the competition so I was even flatter.

I decided not to compete for another 12 months and try to build some muscle however I'm a bit of cardio queen so again this hasn't all gone to plan. I suffered from anorexia as a teenager and I used exercise to burn the few calories I was consuming so my addiction to running or any time of hard core cardio is very much ingrained in my brain......must do more cardio, must do more cardio!!!!! I found a couple of months ago that I was feeling a little skinny and flat and hungry and basically felt like I was "flogging a dead horse".

I was frustrated and upset that here I was eating right (or so I thought), no lollies!!! training hard (way too much cardio) etc etc and I wasn't gaining anything I was just loosing muscle............again and I could see myself going down the same road again and getting sick so I thought what do I do???

I'd obviously kept up to date with Lisa since she'd tried to help me before and to be honest the website was and is one of the things that always kept me going looking at what others do realising that I'm not alone everyone has their bad times and good times some people do it really tough but they get through it and don't sit around feeling sorry for themselves and like me they've chosen to do this and like me they really want to enjoy the experience because otherwise what's the point, so after I had seen how well Lisa had done herself I plucked up the courage to ask Lisa for help again, she already knew me kind of and she was someone who I trusted not only has she done some amazing things for other people but she looked fantastic for her own comp and kept us all up to date.
So I e-mailed Lisa my pics and what I was doing etc etc and for a start she said I wasn't eating enough and I was doing too much cardio both of which I probably deep down knew myself but too scared to change. Lisa gave me more food which was great but decreased my cardio which wasn't good and then to top it off I broke my toe, Lisa was glad that finally something was going to slow me down with my running but I wasn't as convinced at first but yep things happen for a reason and it made me realise I was just running (literally) myself ragged everyday.

left: Sarah 4 weeks from contest
So more food, consistent training and less cardio = a very happy me (and a very happy partner now as I get to stay in bed and relax on a Sunday morning instead of dragging him to the gym to do you've guessed it more cardio!!) its going to take some time but I feel absolutely fantastic 4 weeks out from a competition - yes I know I need to work on the muscle building but I'm happier in myself, I'm more positive in that I know I'm going to be able to do this and get better and I'm enjoying my training again as I'm seeing the results, instead of seeing myself disappear.

Over the last few weeks Lisa has been fantastic not just because of the diet/training plans I've been given but she is so easy to chat to and let her know when you are struggling or having a teary day and want to quit - thanks Lisa I so appreciate the fact you said you would help me reach my dreams and goals x

Sarah Mitchell

A word from Lisa

You have to be prepared to go to great lengths to get what you want. In the case of my client, Sarah Mitchell of Gandagai NSW, she drives an hour to gym each day.  Now that's dedication!  This dedication (or could be obsession) shows in Sarah's training too - before she came to me that is.  As you can see from the pic below, there's not much to Sarah, her bodyfat was around 12% but she still believed she wasn't lean enough.  Therefore she thought she had to do cardio and would often slog out an hour on the treadmill each morning and not eating much during the day.  Sound familiar anyone??!

That's when Sarah decided she needed someone else to take control of her obsession and that's where I stepped in.  And up went the food and down came the cardio.  All credit must go to Sarah (and her supportive partner) for trusting my judgement and turning around her eating and training philosophy.  The change has done Sarah good, although she doesn't see it herself, she's still around 12% but her muscle mass has increased by 500g which is quite alot in Sarah's case.  Sarah's 4 weeks away from competing at the Wagga Wagga champs on 4 April and with some minor tweaks she'll look great and will look different from her last time on stage.

Well done Sarah!
