| With brand new starting times, the
NZFBB Wellington Bodybuliding Champs seemed to just fly by ....or
perhaps it was just the super efficient Terry Hills and his team
of backstage marshalls that made the event ran
so smoothly! The morning show began at 11am and it was
finished by 12.30pm much to the delight of athletes, marshalls and
audience alike so we can all have a lunch break. The show attracted 26 athletes who were aiming to qualify for the Nationals (which will also be in Wellington) later this year. While the numbers were small, was great to see athletes putting in the effort to diet so early in the year to get into condition for this show. There was pretty even numbers between girls and guys but it was good to see there was more physique than figure girls for a change. |

| Mel Westland from Christchurch was
in great condition and she took out the Overall Figure Title. Mandi
Matheson took off her bodyfitness shoes to go back into physique
class for this show and took out the Overall title while John
Dearaza who won the Novice 70-80kg class took out the overall
Mens Title with his super symmetry and mass. Other athletes of note would be Katrina in the Novice Physique class who shows awesome muscle potential. Check out her profile in 'Wonder Woman'. While Ross in the Masters Class would have had the best condition of the show. More pics of him in 'hunk of the moment'. |

| Ofcourse the highlight
of the evening show, which began at the early time of 5pm, was the
guest posing of NZ's recent IFBB Pro Mike Kingsnorth. He
entertained the crowd with his 7 minute routine and included going
into the audience as part of his posing. Many ladies were thrilled
I'm sure! We'll have video interview with Mike in a future
update, he poses for us too. It was strange to have the show finish at 8.30pm but I think this is a much better format for the athletes as they can enjoy their post contest treat while the restaurants are open without having to trek around for treat food!. All in all, a great well run show and thanks Terry for letting me and Go Figure share the happy snaps with our viewers. Enjoy the pics!
