Somewhere between Waiouru and Taihape, NZ's strongest man Levi Vaoga hosted his own strongman contest. A group of big boys and their super big toys from all over the North Island gathered to see just who can pull, push and hold the heaviest things.
Levi and a contender!
Nate Williams, who sent us these pics, placed in top 4 in all events, winning the final event to come 3rd overall. Top 2 were Mick Cotrell (145kg) and Sam (170kg) so he was happy keeping up at an bodyweight of 98kg! :)

Strongman Events @ Easter!
If you're interested in seeing the super strength of these strongmen live make sure you get to the Easter Show at Greenlane in Auckland and also there's an event at Lindisfarne College in Hawke's Bay.

Around 50 people turned out for Optimum Nutrition's Charles Glass and Cristina Vujnich seminar on 6 April. Thanks to Nic and Mark at Topmark Nutrition for bringing them to NZ as I'm sure the evening helped those who attended get motivated for their own fitness and bodybuilding goals. More story in the future.

2011 NZ Pro Championships Report and Pics

The 2011 NZIFBB New Zealand Figure Pro show was a huge success and credit must go to Moe Moussawi and his team for organizing a well co-ordinated and efficient event.

He had organized a great lineup of Figure Pros to compete which included current Ms Olympia Erin Stern and fellow seasoned American athlete Latisha Wilder. Adding to the list was NZ’s own Raechelle Chase and Kristy Thomson along with Australians Ellena Reidi, Darlene Escano, Kelly Johnson and Jeni Briscoe from Canada.  Up for grabs in the Pro class was over $6000 in prizemoney from Xtreme Nutrition.
