A change in mindset was the key to Sharon Salvi's amazing successes this year. Looking full and very girlie, Sharon had an awesome run of winning the Overalls at NABBA Counties and then winning her class at the INBA Womens comp in Australia on consecutive weekends.

38 year old Sharon, who we first did a story on in 06, had big ambitions for 07. One of them was to win Overall at
Waikato and the other to place at Nationals.
This year she achieved both - well ok she won overalls at Counties but she's not going to do Waikato and said she'd ' give the chance to someone else to have a go'.

Hi all, We arrived home on the weekend of the 23rd June and slept for two days! What an experience. The weather was great – an average of 35 C. It was challenging preparing for the contest as we were in a different country and with the constant travel. Sparta was a 4 hour bus ride from Athens and we arrived there late Thursday night. We were staying in the same hotel as the Spanish team. Friday night was the official registration and weigh in.

If it wasn't for a car accident 8 years ago we may not have seen the youthful figure of our new Wonder Woman Farah Deobhakta. It was through her rehabiliation for her leg in the gym that Farah found that she enjoyed the gym training and the rest they say is history.

At first glance Farah looks like a buffed 30something, but through further investigation we find out that she's 45 and a Mum to 11 and 13 year old children! furthermore she's a doctor and has specialised in obstetrics and sports medicine.

So Farah's one highly driven lady, so driven that she drives 20km from her home in New Plymouth to her gym 'Team Elevation' in Inglewood to train. Although Farah's only been competing for 2 years, she's already shaping up to be a contender in her class. This year she's won the Sen Fig 45 at NZFBB Wellington champs and has a few more in her sights this year.

Let's find out more about Farah and her youthful secrets!

Teresa's Post Contest Report on her NABBA Asia Pacific Trip

The flight over was tiring and harsh on the body, 10 hrs to Singapore, 4 to Manila, 1hr to Caticalan, and a 30min boat ride to Boracay Island. Once we had arrived on the Island we were taxied by bikes with side carts to our Hotel 15min away. It was very amusing as they have no road rules, they just toot to say get out of the way. Our Motel was really nice, clean and large. Our meals were provided which was a staple diet of eggs, chicken, rice, kumera and fruit. I didn't risk the chicken (made that mistake before)
