Auckland Mum of two toddlers Fiona Wallace has had quite a meteoric rise in bodybuilding in her first year of competitive figure competitions in 2008.

Fiona's hard figure has won or placed her in the 4 shows she competed in as a novice competitor. And at the recent IFBB NZ Elite show 09, she placed 5th - the only kiwi to make it into the top 5 spot along side the Aussies.  Her next goal is the Nationals where she'll compete in the Open class.

In this update we find out how Fiona copes with her training while working around her familiy duties.

Update November 1, 2009.  Marlene competed in the INBA Natural Olympia on 17 October on the Gold Coast and won the 50+ class from 7 athletes!

We have some fantastic Senior Figures competing in New Zealand at the moment.

The 35+ and 45+ is getting very competitive each year as the girls get more seasoned - not old!!

But one outstanding figure is the youthful figure of Marlene Henderson of Taupo. When we heard Marlene was making a surprise entry and competing in the 50+ class at the recent INBA Taupo South Pacific Champs we thought 'What? no, they must've got her class wrong.' But it was true Marlene is over 50. 51 in fact!

Marlene hardly looks a day over 40 and has the figure of someone much younger.  She only trains 4 days a week and does about 3 x 30min cardio sessions a week.  Marlene only prepared for the Taupo comp at 5 weeks out! She credits her body to good genes and having a young husband.  Lucky girl, hunky Chris Henderson keeps her young.

Marlene is an inspiration for all of us young figures and shows us what a commitment to health and fitness can do to keep us looking young.

In this episode of Go Figure TV, we catch up with Marlene as she pumps up and talk to her about her contest preparation and get more insight into her training.

Just when we thought our favourite pocket dynamo Eleanor Stewart had retired from bodybuilding, she competed in her 'final' comp - The NZFBB Elite show on 5 September. Yeah right Elle!

Elle did have international goals in mind this year but due to various commitments and funding issues, she couldn't quite get there so she thought she'd give the Elite show a go as she needed a goal to train for.  Elle's been training her usual hardcore style and enjoying the work.

In this episode of Go Figure TV, Elle trains shoulders and arms with Lufi (who at the time was preparing for the Samoan Nationals).

Watch Elle's training and hear her thoughts on her future contest plans. Is she really going to retire at last???  Click here to watch
