Most women have a special connection with their hair. They have to make many important decisions about it like whether to cut it, colour it, grow it, perm it, straighten it or in Carol's case Shave it!

Yes Carol Robson is going to brave the razor and going to shave her hair for cancer. Carol who'll be competing in the Senior Figure Class at the ProFormance CNI Bodybuilding Champs on 25 Sept in Tauranga, will have her hair shaved after the prejudging show in an effort to raise funds for the Breast Cancer foundation.

She has set up a fundraising page and would value your contribution
http://www.fundraiseonline.co.nz/CarolRobson/

If any other women (or men) are brave enough to share in Carol's experience and shave their head on the day, they're more than welcome to join in!

Go Figure will be there to capture every snippet of Carol's brave feat.

Good on you Carol!!!

She is the definition of the little battler. You've seen Janine Haywood many times on Go Figure as one of my 'Supergirls' clients, you know about her achievements on stage but many of you don't actually know what this little figure goes through just to stand proud on stage.  Until now.

Janine wouldn't acknowledge what a wonder woman she is, but no one else I know would go through the pain of grinding bone on bone so she can workout.

The shoulder injury was so serious that she has to have surgery, but not this girl. Afterall, time off would interfere with her contest plans...and she didn't have time for that.

So armed with her fighting spirit, Janine downs her painkillers before gym instead of pre workout drink so she can get through the pain.  But she loves it!   And she's been doing this for all the time that she's trained with me, just over 3 years.

Also during this time Janine has grown from strength to strength, each year we add a little bit more muscle and add a little bit more polish on her condition. And lately she's been looking really good if I do say so myself - as I know Janine doesn't!  Despite all her wins and achievements, Janine remains understated about it all and still doesn't see what the audience sees.  We love you for that Janine!

With a massive twisting of the arm, I've managed to convince that she does also deserve the added title of Wonder Woman, just read her profile for yourself!

In this update we just want to give recognition to one of bodybuilding's unique personalities, Colleen Sloane, who competes in the Senior physique class.
Many regulars at NABBA contest will know Colleen for her friendly nature and outrageous outfits in her posing routines that always brings smiles and laughter to the audience.

Interestingly Colleen has only competed at NABBA events, where she has been entertaining us since her first show in 1999 at the NABBA Manawatu. She's not too far from her 100th show this year!  Colleen didn't want to make a fuss of it but TOO BAD Colleen, we want to make a fuss of you.

Afterall, how many 70 year olds (71 in Dec 10) is still training hard while working a 40 hour week working - in healthcare taking care of the 'elderly' who are younger than you!

Now that says plenty about your energy and character.  When not working, Colleen has plenty of family to keep her occupied where she has 4 sons, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild to dote over.

Keep up the great work Colleen, always great to see you bopping backstage and giving words of encouragement to fellow athletes.  We look forward to seeing you well beyond your 100th show!

Sheta Swinerd's figure has evoled many times in the past few years. In 2008 she competed in the NABBA Waikato, in 2009 her figure expanded to accomodate little Lucy when she became pregnant and now in 2010 she's on a mission to shrink back to her figure prior to Lucy's arrival.

As Personal Trainer at evolveyourself , Sheta's naturally an active figure but admits she does feel the pressure to get back her body.  In this catch up we find out how Sheta's planning on getting her figure back and what advice she has to other Mums with newborns to help speed up their shape down plans.
