Men can compete in Women's Show!
Have just spoken to Peter Hardwick, organiser of the All Female Classic, to be held on 23 May and he says that the women's show is now going to incorporate men.  No guys, you won't have to wear a bikini ha ha.  Some of the women will be selected to compete at the Women's show in Melbourne in July.
Peter says the May show will be drug tested.  As yet he hasn't got a name for the comp.  Perhaps the INBA Akl Champs?  we'll keep you posted.

In other news, it has been confirmed that a NABBA/WFF (affiliated with NABBA Australia) contest is being organised on 1 May 2010 in Christchurch. The name of the contest will be the NABBA/WFF Grand Prix Christchurch and will be held at the Kaiapoi High School. Please contact NABBA NZ or NABBA/WFF for further info.

BTW does anyone know anything about the IFBB Figure Pro Show supposed to be held on 20 March?  Terry? if you have any info please we'd love to know.

Hi lillybella, good on you for having a competition goal this year. Don't get sidetracked about what comp and which federation to do. Go by how your body is looking. If you don't think you can make one show, there's probably another one not far from that date.

Doesn't matter which organisation as long as you compete and look the most amazing you can be!

Good luck!!
Lisa

hi guys, i was hoping for an NZFBB to be held in the sunny bay of plenty as this is hopefully going to compete for the first time this year and my good friend who competed last year reccommended nzfbb, so looks like the waikato musce tournament (whatever that means) is the one, got some work to do but the challenge has been set

I guess 2010 will be a time of change. Change of the guard. Change of thought and perhaps the way shows are run. Change for good or bad, time will tell. You don't know until it happens.

So I'm looking forwrd to the outcomes of Kingleys' meeting and eventually what happens at the AGM.

Through the grapevine I hear Kristy Thomson is the new chch organiser. Can someone confirm this? she's been in the sport a long time so good on her for giving the organisation part a go.

Interesting calendar for the year ahead. I have to agree with you Lisa, interesting names of the shows, but what do they actually mean. There seems to be quite a few of the long time faithful leaving the NZFBB e.g. judges last year, Mike D this year etcetera. What has happened to the CNI's this year, wasn't it the best and biggest show in 09'?

One thinks that there is a real opportunity for NABBA to professionally deliver and grow their brand in NZ?

OK, so we have now for you the much anticipated NZFBB contest calendar. Some interesting names of contests there but what does it all mean?

Just curious what is the South Pacific Bodybuilding Champs? if anyone knows anything about this one would be great if you could share. Is it what the Sonny Schmidt was?

In any case, looks like some athletes will get some international experience which is a bonus. Wonder if they're going to be partly funded if they get chosen.

Questions, questions I know. But I bet you're asking them too!

We've recently learned that long time South Island contest organiser Mike Debenham will no longer be organising contests for the NZFBB. That really is shocking! Mike's a fantastic organiser and has a good network of athletes and sponsors down there. Will be interesting what will happen to this show and whether it will get the same interest without Mike. An interesting year ahead folks!!

Hey Lisa I am really looking forward to 2010 already, just can't wait. I am going to enjoy a quiet Christmas day with the family and a few treats, while sitting in the sun pondering which ones to do

Yes the much anticipated calendar. Well it looks like the treats tomorrow are going to taste extra good!! It seems like last week that we were at the North Harbour show and now we wait with baited breath as to who is going to turn up where and when (and in what condition!!) in 2010. Bring it on! Here's to another year of body building!! Enjoy your Christmas evryone.

Hey look what we have boys and girls, the NEW NABBA calendar for next year!

The big surprise here is it looks like NABBA NZ have realigned with international NABBA and that's great news for our elite athletes.

So to fit in these international events, looks like the local calendar has been pushed forward in the year. No doubt some of you will start dieting right after christmas.

Enjoy your feasts tomorrow if you are!
